Fisker may grow out of its ugly duckling phase in the ever-growing electric vehicle market, Bank of America said. Analyst John Babcock initiated coverage of the underperforming electric vehicle stock at a buy. "FSR offers investors pure-play exposure to the rapidly growing EV market, has key milestones coming in 2024 and a lower risk business model than peers," he said in a note to clients Tuesday, also describing the stock as a "pure-play EV force." Tesla's price cuts could be a harbinger for volume and profitability troubles for Fisker, Babcock warned. But Babcock used Bank of America's framework for analyzing automotive technology stocks, which looks at positioning and disruptive threats.

New York CNN —Now that the United Auto Workers union has started a strike, the US auto market is about to be thrown into turmoil all over again. Auto sales hadn’t entirely recovered from the pandemic, but car shopping in the United States could change once more. The auto manufacturing crises of recent years have left auto dealers better prepared to deal with disruptions, said Scott Kunes, chief operating officer of Kunes Auto and RV Group, which owns more than 40 dealerships in the Midwest. It pays to be flexibleBefore the strikes started, auto dealerships had reasonably healthy inventories of new vehicles, according to Michelle Krebs, an analyst with AutoTrader. That means they’ll still have vehicles to sell for a few weeks, but, as the strike wears on, the choices available will start to dwindle.

Mr. Burk picked up construction skills while working for a plumber when he was in high school and later developed those skills by flipping houses, and Ms. Burk has a background in design. “We were always drawn to ugly-duckling houses,” Ms. Burk said.
More than two-thirds of Americans aren’t feeling engaged with their work, according to a recent Gallup poll, and job unhappiness is at a record high. But how do you figure out what’s next? In the popular imagination, reinvention requires some kind of abrupt transformation or sudden epiphany, a metamorphosis from ugly duckling to swan. Vera Wang from figure skater to bridal designer. It seems unattainable to the rest of us—a big disincentive to even try.
Photos and videos have emerged of George Santos apparently dressed in drag as "Kitara Ravache." Jan Sport, a star of "RuPaul's Drag Race," rated Kitara Rivache's drag look for Insider. One Brazilian drag queen, Eula Rochard, claimed she knew Santos by drag name Kitara Ravache, and alleged that he competed in drag queen beauty pageants in 2008. "I've seen a lot worse first-time drag than Miss Kitara," Jan said. Santos, who initially denied claims he ever performed as a drag queen, later appeared to admit that he had dressed in drag, telling reporters: "I was not a drag queen.

A look at the day ahead in European and global markets from Anshuman DagaWhile Chinese economic data didn't come in worse than markets had feared, investors still couldn't come to terms with the scale of the economic pain being felt in the world's second-largest economy. Asian stock markets dipped and the broad-based MSCI's Asia Pacific share index outside Japan (.MIAPJ0000PUS) retreated away from seven-month highs, and Chinese equities stocks also retreated. European and UK stock futures, however, pointed to a steady start. The FTSE 100 (.FTSE) is just a whisker away from its record high of 7,903.5 points. Tuesday's batch of economic data coming up include UK jobs numbers, German inflation and Germany's ZEW economic sentiment survey.
Mexican telecommunications giant America Movil (AMXL.MX) kicked off the trend late last year when its shareholders approved the spinoff of its cell tower business. Some analysts said both Alfa and Televisa may consider further spinoffs as they look to boost their depressed valuations. Other companies, like Coke bottler and retailer Femsa (FEMSAUBD.MX), whose shares are down 3.3% year-to-date, after gaining 6% in 2021, may follow suit. Alfa lost 2.69% the day after its shareholders approved the Axtel spinoff, while Televisa's shares advanced 0.86% the day after it revealed plans for a similar move. Televisa, meanwhile, could follow its sports spinoff with either its editorial or magazine businesses, two analysts said.
